The Amazing of Youth

My brother, just now I was invited to be speaker in masjid Nurul Huda, Prupuh, Panceng, Gresik, East Java, Indonesia. The inviter is commitee of Remas (masjid teenager) there. I told about about “The Amazing of Youth”.

In this oppurtinity, I will tell what I have told in that program. May be, the reader can take advantage from this. :)

Youth or teenager have amazing thing in theirselves. Soekarno, first president of Indonesia ever told, “give me 10 youths I will shake the world”. He didn’t say old man, but young man. Why? Because a  youth has power, spirit, brilliant idea, etc  that old man don’t have it. 

If we read history, we will find that many youths have amazing achievement eventhough their age still young. Usamah bin Zaid was believed by Rasulullah to be leader in war. His age was only 19 years. Imam Nawawi can wrote amazing book like “Riyadus shalihin” or  “Arba’in Nawawi” when he was young, Imam Syafi’i became ‘mufti’ when he was 15 years old, etc. So, many young man proved that they can create something amazing eventhough they were still young.

Hm...my brother, actually still many things that I told but I want to resume it. The last thing that I delivered to audience is Ali bin Abi Thalib saying. He said, “laisal fataa man yaquulu hadzaa abii. Walakinnal fataa man yaquulu haa anaa dza”. A real youths is  not someone who say, this is my father. But the real youth is who say, this is me”.

So, as youth, we should maximilize our time and oppurtinity. We develop our capibilty. We make it progress. And then, we should make achievement. Our own achievement, Not our father, mother, or our friend achievement. Okey??? :)

Extreme Effort for Extreme Achievement

 My brother, yesterday ust. Abdul Kholiq as leader of STAIL (Islamic College of Luqman Al-Hakim) Hidayatullah Surabaya visited students of STAIL in second campus, Panceng, Gresik. He told anything to students about motivation, spirit, and the others.

 

There is one statement from him that I still remember until now. “Extreme Effort for Extreme Achiement”. If we want to get achievement, we should make an effort. If we want to get big achievement, we should make a big effort. And if we want to get extreme achievement, we should make an extreme effort. Subhanallah.

Now, let’s check in ourselves. Do we ever make an extreme effort? Once again, do we ever do it? Subhanallah.

For Making Our Spirit are always “On”

My brother, we need spirit in our life. Very need. Because by spirit, we can do anything for reaching success. But without spirit, we will be lazy and never do something that can reach our dream. 

My brother, sometimes we are in high spirit and sometimes we are in low spirit. Sometimes our spirit is “on” and sometimes our spirit is “off”.  So, the question is, how to make our spirit are always “on”?

Jamil Azzaini, Indonesian Motivator, told in his book that there are 4 ways or 4 “on” to make our spirit are always “on”. What is it?

First, we should have visi-“on” (vision). Our vision should be divided into two, world vision and hereafter vision. And also, it should can be imagine. For example, Jamil Azzaini give example for his hereafter vision is he want to huge Rasulullah Saw in heaven. And for world vision he want to inspire 5 million people and create 10.000 motivators who have good character. 

The second is acti-“on” (action). In Islam, he said, there are guides in action. We should always  do action in ‘wajib’ and ‘sunnah’. Once in a while we do action in mubah. ‘Makruh’ we leave and ‘haram’ we throw away.

The third is passi-“on” (passion). When we do action, we should do special action. Action that become our passion. Action that become our passion is action that we enjoy in doing it, it can grow and can create good result/appreciation. For example our passion is writing. So, should write, write, and write. No days without writing.

The forth is collaborati-“on”. We can’t be success if we are only alone. We need partner. We need friend. We need to collaborate with others.

So the conclusion is, if we want to make our spirit is always “on”, we should own 4 “on”. Vision, action, passion, and collaboration. :)

Are We Ready?

My brother, for reaching our dream, we will get difficulty. We will find many obstacles and challenges. If we have strong mentality and motivation, we will be able to reach our dreams. But if we have weak mentality and motivation we will never reach it.

We need serious. We need effort hard. We need big struggle. Besides that; we also  need patience and enjoying our effort.

Hm….How? Are we ready to be success man?  Let’s answer by action J

Don’t Blame Environment

My brother, when we don’t  get our dream, some of us may be blame environment around us. We blame place that we live. The question is, is it right?

My brother, actually, the problem is not about place and environment. I also agree that place and environment are very important for us and also can give big influence t us. But my brother, don’t  only look from this side. Don’t only think that place and environment is the biggest problem and the biggest cause. 

We can check again. May be, the biggest problem comes from ourselves, not from place and environment. The proof is, so many people live in jail for long time, but they can make very good books. For example is Ibnu Taimiyah. He can make  high quality books eventhough he live in jail. It is only one example. So many examples that I still can’t mention here.

Just now, I read a good book that is written by kang Abik and his friends. The tittle is, “Catatan Motivasi seorang Santri”. There is good statement that I want to quote here.
“If we have negative thinking to this world; so failure, suffering, and negative things will happen to us. But if we have positive thinking and be optimist; so this life will be happy for us”. “Actually, the problem is not this world, but our thinking”. “Our successful in this world is decided by our thinking. If we are optimist and have positive thinking, so successful will be near with us. But if we are pessimist and have negative thinking, so successful will be far from us.” (page 73)

So, don’t blame environment! :)
